Dr. Burghardt Schmidt is a german philosopher. He is currently a professor at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. He studied Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and later Philosophy and Art history at Eberhard Karls University Tübingen.
Dr. Burghardt Schmidt was a professor of Language and Aesthetics at the Institute of Higher Education for design in Offenbach am Main. In 1985 he received an honorary professorship at the University of Hannover, at the facility of architecture. In 1985 Dr. Schmidt became the president of the Ernst-Block Society, and in 2006 he became the honorary president. Dr. Schmidt also taught at the Bergischen Universität für Wuppertal and at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.He was a scientific coworker of Ernst Bloch for the publishing of the complete edition in Suhrkamp Publishing 1968-1977.

Dr. Burghardt Schmidt ist ein deutscher Philosoph. Er ist im Moment ein Professor an der Universität für angewandte Kunst. Er studierte Biologie, Chemie und Physik und dann Philosophie und Kunstgeschichte an der Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen. Dr. Burghardt Schmidt war Professor für Sprache und Ästhetik an der Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach am Main. Im Jahre 1985 wurde er zum Honorarprofessor an der Universität Hannover, an der Architekturfakultät. Dr. Burghardt Schmidt wurde in 1985 der Präsident der Ernst-Bloch-Gesellschaft und in 2006 wurde er Ehrenpräsident. Schmidt lehrte auch an der Bergischen Universität für Wuppertal und der Akademie für Bildende Künste.
Er war außerdem ein Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter von Ernst Bloch bei Herausgabe von dessen Gesamtausgabe im Suhrkamp Verlag 1968-1977
