He obtained a Bachelor of Social Sciences from the University of Fort Hare in South Africa majoring in Sociology and Development studies. He further obtained an honours degree in development studies. His thesis was on the impact of public works on poverty alleviation. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Development Management at Ruhr University in Germany. His current research areas are challenges of rural urban migration on human settlements in South Africa. Main areas of specialization are community development and project management. At the moment he is doing his internship at Oikodrom where he assists in the NOPOOR research project and in applying for new research grants
