STEP BY STEP
Based on experiences of collaborations and former projects of OIKODROM in Vienna and international cooperation, we continue with an established set of participatory methods, that we establish in an innovative context: between the actual situation of female migrants, the topics of sustainability and participation. We focus on the involvement of female migrants, who empirically are seen as a target group which is difficult to reach. In this project we invite women as representatives of their families to participate actively.
Our ambition is to develop and to count on a suitable instrument with which it is possible to uncover the needs and perspectives of special groups of society – in this case of female migrants. We also want to raise the societal value of these needs and perspectives – for the benefits of female migrants and the society in overall. The results of this project should give instructions on how to engage actively in public space. Public space with its rooms for encounters offers a very important arena for participation.
Period of the project: December 2007 – May 2008
