Co-Director of Oikodrom and Dissemination Expert.
Trained in African studies and Gender Studies at the University of Vienna and Leiden (NL), she is an experienced project manager in the fields of science, culture and arts with a wide regional expertise (China, Eastern Europe/Caucasus, Mediterranean region/Arabic countries, Sub-Sahara Africa). Since 1999 she has been working as an independent journalist (print, radio and TV) and as a film director for cinema documentaries, TV and image films. Her work at the interface of science and culture includes participatory video workshops for scientific research projects (film and its analysis as part of participatory action research) and the realisation of documentaries and film clips for different audiences – from policy makers to urban residents – and different media (websites, cinema, conference screenings etc.). She is particularly interested in challenges related to inter- and transdisciplinary work, and in innovative ways how we can disseminate scientific and cultural topics and processes to policy makers and wider audiences.
